School Life
Life at Tonagh Primary School is rich, varied, and full of opportunities for children to grow, explore, and thrive. We believe that learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom and we work hard to create a school experience that is engaging, inclusive, and memorable.
Our pupils enjoy a wide range of activities that support their academic, social, emotional, and physical development. From classroom teaching, to outdoor learning, to themed days and educational visits, every child is encouraged to discover their strengths and passions.
Clubs and Enrichment
We offer a vibrant programme of extra-curricular clubs that run throughout the year. In Term 1, pupils (in selected year groups) can take part in:
- Games Club
- Football Club
- Netball Club
- Good News Club
These clubs provide opportunities for teamwork, creativity, and fun, while helping children develop new skills and friendships.
In addition to our staff-led clubs, we regularly welcome external providers who bring exciting enrichment experiences to our school. Over recent years, pupils have enjoyed:
- Virtual Reality (VR) Club
- Dance
- NERF
- Specialist football coaching
These activities add variety and excitement to school life, helping children build confidence and broaden their horizons.
Extended Schools Clubs
To support our pupils beyond the classroom, Tonagh Primary School offers a range of extended schools clubs that promote learning, wellbeing, and routine:
- Breakfast Club: Open every morning before school (0830-0845), our Breakfast Club provides a healthy start to the day in a relaxed and friendly setting.
- Reading Club: Designed to foster a love of books and improve literacy skills, our Reading Club offers quiet time for reading and storytelling.
- Homework Club: Available after school (P1-P3), this club gives pupils a structured environment to complete homework with support from staff.
At Tonagh, we are proud of the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines our school. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, or out in the community, our pupils are supported to be kind, curious, and confident learners.
