Our Classes
At Tonagh Primary School, each class is a vibrant hub of learning, creativity, and growth. From Nursery through to Primary 7, our pupils are supported by dedicated teachers and classroom assistants who tailor learning experiences to meet the needs of every child.
Nursery Class
Our Nursery pupils are an important part of our school community. Learning is play-based and carefully planned to enhance skills, encourage thinking, and extend understanding. We follow the Pre-School Curriculum set out by the Department of Education, ensuring a high-quality foundation for future learning.
Foundation Stage (P1–P2)
In Primary 1 and Primary 2, children begin their formal education journey. Our focus is on developing early literacy, numeracy, and social skills through engaging, hands-on activities. We nurture curiosity and confidence in a warm, supportive environment.
Key Stage 1 (P3–P4)
Primary 3 and Primary 4 pupils build on their foundational skills with more structured learning. We encourage independence, problem-solving, and collaboration, while continuing to support emotional and social development.
Key Stage 2 (P5–P7)
In Primary 5 to Primary 7, children deepen their understanding across all areas of the Northern Ireland Curriculum. Our teaching promotes critical thinking, creativity, and resilience, preparing pupils for the transition to post-primary education.
Each class benefits from access to our playpark, ICT suite, digital devices, Forest School, Sensory Garden, and other resources, enriching the curriculum and making learning meaningful and memorable.
